Cruising daily from 9am until late, 7 days a week, we offer both catered and un-catered experiences tailored entirely to you. Conveniently located behind the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa in Surfers Paradise, all cruises operate on an exclusive private charter basis — meaning there are no set departure times, giving you the flexibility to choose the perfect time for your experience.
Due to the fact that all our cruises operate on an exclusive charter basis, cruise departure times can be flexible depending on prior bookings. It is therefore advisable to book early in order to secure your preferred date and departure time.

Weather
Our gondolas are designed for comfort in a variety of weather conditions, featuring a fixed weatherproof cabin with clear drop-down panels that can be enclosed to keep you protected while still allowing you to enjoy the beautiful surrounding views.
We do operate in light rain, as guests remain comfortably sheltered and able to fully experience the cruise without getting wet. However, your comfort and enjoyment are our priority, and we do not operate in heavy rain or unsafe weather conditions. If weather conditions are unsuitable for cruising, we will contact you to discuss the option of rescheduling, delaying, or cancelling your cruise.
Our team closely monitors the local weather radar and, should adverse weather be expected, we will endeavour to contact you at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
In the unlikely event that a cruise must be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain, strong winds exceeding our operational limits, or thunderstorms, you will have the choice of:
- Rescheduling your cruise
- Receiving a gift voucher
- Receiving a full refund

Our Fleet
Our fleet of five gondolas have been uniquely designed and purpose-built for Australian conditions, combining timeless elegance with modern comfort, privacy, and luxury. Unlike traditional Venetian gondolas, our vessels are constructed from durable fibreglass and feature a fully enclosed, weatherproof cabin with clear drop downs—allowing you to cruise comfortably in all conditions while enjoying a smooth and relaxing experience on the water.
For complete privacy, each gondola includes a rigid soundproof fibreglass divider separating the Gondolier from your private cabin, creating an intimate atmosphere where you can truly relax and enjoy uninterrupted time together. Inside, the beautifully appointed cabin surrounds you in warmth and sophistication, with elegant finishes, romantic background music and plush sheepskin-covered seating designed for the ultimate in comfort and indulgence. Every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to deliver a private luxury cruising experience unlike anything else on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Gondolas is a proudly family-owned and operated business that has been creating unforgettable experiences on the Gold Coast waterways since April 2000.
Founded by John and Val van Rensburg, the business was built on a passion for hospitality, romance, and showcasing the beauty of the Gold Coast from the water. After many successful years operating the business, they passed the helm to their daughter and son-in-law, Taryn and Mike, who continue the family tradition with the same dedication to exceptional service and personalised experiences.

More Information
Departure times are subject to availability and existing bookings. In some cases, departure times may need to be adjusted slightly if required
Bookings are confirmed once a 50% deposit has been received
Guests are kindly requested to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. Late arrivals may result in a reduced cruise duration to avoid impacting subsequent bookings
A 10% public holiday surcharge applies to all cruises operating on public holidays and will be added to your booking confirmation where applicable
Once your booking has been confirmed, any cancellation or change will be subject to the following terms and conditions:
Cancellations or changes made within 48 hours of your scheduled cruise departure time are non-refundable. Any outstanding balance owing may be charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking
Rescheduling requests are not permitted within 48 hours of your cruise departure time
Failure to arrive for your scheduled booking will be treated as a cancellation and is non-refundable
In the event that a cruise is cancelled by Gold Coast Gondolas due to adverse weather conditions or operational safety concerns, guests will be offered the choice of:
- A full refund
- A gift certificate
- Rescheduling to an alternative date
We are happy to accommodate up to two reschedule requests free of charge, provided more than 48 hours’ notice is given prior to your cruise departure time. Any additional rescheduling requests will incur a $30 rescheduling fee
Cruises cancelled with more than 48 hours notice may choose between:
- A refund less a 10% cancellation fee based on the total booking value, or
- A gift certificate for the full amount paid
